Let's Talk About Death
We all are going to die one day. That comes as no surprise does it? What if it is today you go to Heaven or Hell, meet your maker, you kick the bucket, run out of string, push up daisies, or go six feet under?
Are you ready to meet your maker, kick the bucket, flatline, cross over, push up daisies, shuffle off (this mortal coil), buy the farm, sleep with the fishes, frag, go six feet under, be gathered to your ancestors, cark it, RIP…?
The past century has seen death and dying in the industrialised world move from an everyday part of life to being hidden from society. Death has become something that is done in private, with mourning no longer ritualised. This lack of awareness and experience with the dying, the dead, or the bereaved, has resulted in widespread death anxiety. Death is something to fight, to keep at bay, to fear.
But, people still die.
